RIIF ("we," "our," or "us"), operated by Univault Technologies LLC, a Utah company, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our services, including riif.com, the Haven SMS alert service, and related applications.
Our Privacy Principle
Your health data never leaves your device. RIIF applications use the GLE (Global Longitudinal Encoder) to process biosignals locally on your device. Only mathematical coefficients (512 bytes) travel the network — never raw health data. This is privacy by architecture, not just policy.
Information We Collect
Haven SMS Service
When you text our Haven number:
- Phone number: We receive your phone number when you text us. We use it solely to respond to your request and send alerts you've opted into.
- Message content: The keywords you text (e.g., DUST, AIR, HEALTH). We do not store message history beyond what is needed for service delivery.
- We never sell, share, or monetize your phone number or message history.
- Text DELETE to have all your data removed. Text STOP to stop all messages.
riif.com Website
- Usage data: Pages visited, features used — standard web analytics
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information
- No account required: You can use riif.com/air and other dashboards without creating an account
RIIF Applications
- Health data: Processed entirely on your device. Never transmitted to our servers.
- GLE coefficients: 128 mathematical coefficients (512 bytes) may be transmitted to enable family monitoring features. These coefficients cannot be reverse-engineered into raw health data.
- Location: Not collected unless you explicitly enable location-based air quality features.
How We Use Your Information
- Provide services: Deliver environmental alerts, air quality data, and health monitoring
- Improve services: Analyze aggregate usage patterns (never individual health data)
- Safety: Route crisis-related messages to 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline
- Communication: Respond to your SMS keywords and support inquiries
What We Never Do
- Never sell your data to third parties
- Never share your phone number with advertisers or data brokers
- Never access raw health data — it stays on your device
- Never monetize crisis interactions — crisis keywords route directly to 988
Data Sources
Our environmental data comes from free, public federal sources:
- EPA AQS: Air quality and PM10 particulate data
- USGS: Great Salt Lake water level data
- NWS (NOAA): Weather and atmospheric conditions
Data Storage and Security
- Infrastructure: Cloudflare Workers and Pages (edge computing)
- Encryption: All data in transit is encrypted via TLS
- Minimal storage: We store the minimum data necessary to provide the service
- No health data stored: GLE processing happens on your device
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: Request what information we have about you
- Deletion: Text DELETE to our Haven number, or email us
- Opt-out: Text STOP to end SMS messages at any time
- Portability: Request export of any data we hold

Third-Party Services
- Cloudflare: Hosting, CDN, and edge computing
- Twilio: SMS message delivery for Haven alerts
- EPA / USGS / NWS: Public environmental data sources
These services have their own privacy policies governing data collection and use.
Children's Privacy
Our services are not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
